Preserving cultural heritage
The House of Hesse maintains and cares for the numerous cultural assets of the landgraves and princes of Hesse-Kassel as well as the landgraves and princes of Hesse-Darmstadt with the aid of two foundations; it is committed to preserving that cultural heritage.
The Cultural Foundation of the House of Hesse
The newly founded non-profit Cultural Foundation of the House of Hesse – “Kulturstiftung des Hauses Hessen” – cares for and preserves the major part of the works of art of the House of Hesse-Kassel and manages the museum Schloss Fasanerie near Fulda.
The Hessian House Foundation
Today – in addition to Schlosshotel Kronberg – the “Hessische Hausstiftung”, i.e. the Hessian House Foundation, includes the Grandhotel Hessischer Hof in Frankfurt, the estate winery Weingut Prinz von Hessen in the Rheingau region and agricultural properties in Schleswig-Holstein, the Trakehner stud Gestüt Panker and “Das Fürstliche Gartenfest”, the princely garden festival held at Schloss Fasanerie and at Schloss Wolfsgarten.
